The Legacy

A coach who opened doors

Clarence A. Jones was a devoted member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity and the Head Varsity Football and Track Coach at Burley High School for many years. He was later hired as the first African American Assistant Director of the Virginia High School League.

The foundation was established and granted tax-exempt status on May 23, 2008, and named for our Brother, who entered the Omega Chapter on September 30, 2006. It continues a giving tradition that began in 1995 — carrying forward the qualities Coach Jones instilled in his players: excellence, perseverance, and a commitment to their future.
